BOY, 10, ARRESTED AFTER STEALING CAR AND FLEEING FROM POLICE IN MICHIGAN

A 10-year-old boy was arrested after stealing a car and fleeing from police in Michigan.

Dramatic dashcam footage shows a high-speed chase between police and a silver 2017 Buick Encore on the I-75 interstate in Saginaw County at 1.40pm on May 27.

The vehicle slowly veers toward the right lane before coming to a stop and crashing into a guardrail.

Police said the child then exited the vehicle and tried to flee before being arrested nearby.

The boy stole the car belonging to his mother because he wanted to drive to Detroit to see her, according to reports.

“The trooper was behind the suspect for about a mile with lights and sirens activated while OnStar disabled the Buick, allowing for a safe stop,” Michigan State Police (MSP) said.

The 10-year-old is being held at the Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center, MSP said.

“Thankfully, nobody was injured in this incident,” police said.
